Algimantas Černiauskas (1988)
In year 2012 he obtained Master's degree under prof. Henrikas Čerapas' supervision, thus finishing his studies at Vilnius academy of arts. His art blends the virtuosity of painting, poetic and musical visions, disclosed in large format in abstract, colorful, decorative pictorial surface series. It is a feeling or a notion which is impossible to set on canvas or in texture, which works as well as a unique parallel of organic processes. You could call it a manifestation of a modern day neomodernism, which develops the opportunities of finding a strong optical effect (sunset motifs) and expresses visual scope or his longing and impossibility with an immense power (experiments with format). This strategy A. Černiauskas consolidated in his debut - exhibitions organized with H. Čerapas ("Contraception", 2010, "Young guitarists love garden", 2012) and exhibitions organized with painters of his generation ("White Sheet", 2013, "Freedom - thats who we are", 2015, Vilnius). His recent exhibitions ("Lunatics Cave", Alytus, "Painting Behind From Merkinė", Merkinė, "Maidens Blush", "Living In The Bush", Vilnius, etc.) distinctive manipulation of painterly energetics became inseparable from a performance or an action as well as painter's personas' representation in motion picture. Černiauskas' intensive creative activity contains irony, sarcasm, criticism and avant-gardesque mood, speaks of authentic active painter's existential checkpoints.
Agnė Kulbytė
„Taking about abstract painting, the main priority for me is the expression of a brush stroke inside painting's constuctional mind.
What can't I handle within my arms, I collect with my eyes.
I'm humble for objects with any forms and a headonistic expression oppurtunity is what I treasure in painting.
Pictures of mine is a particular spectacle of painting values, it is a contemplation about lithuanian modernistic heritage, and expanding field in abstraction. What I reflect with my brush comes from the sight of a landscape. Few years ago I beggun using sunrise as an important motive in my pictures - I follow its inertian mutation within plastic of a painting.
I am trying to pursue plentitude in a field of a painting and to survey its structure solidity witch is where dramatic nature of a painter merge with a comfort of a glance.
Cynical and avangardistic existance of an visual artist is revealed in a rhetorics of my art, as well as
the purpouse of existential journey wich reaches futhermost optical enviromental approach.“
